Exercise

Good old fashioned exercise will work to burn fat and give you a sense of instant weight loss. Fat is burned when your cells oxidize and release energy. By getting moderate exercise for a good half an hour to an hour, your body will burn fat stores. You do not need high intensity workouts. The body will burn the same amount of calories whether you run or walk.

Walking Is Free

The best exercise you can get is walking, either outdoors or on a treadmill. Fast walking is preferred for those who seek instant weight loss. Get your speed up until you are puffing mildly and keep this speed until you need a rest. Slow down until you are comfortable and continue for a couple of minutes and speed up again.

Treadmill

Owning a treadmill gives you the advantage of being able to walk anytime in the comfort of your own home. The best models will simulate an uphill climb, according to how you program it. A simple inexpensive model is all that is really needed though.

Walking is better for the joints than jogging, and since you are using all of the muscles in the body it burns more calories. Try adding some ankle and wrist weights to give that instant weight loss a boost.
By starting out at twenty minutes per day at a moderate speed the first two weeks then increasing this to forty minutes, you will be burning a lot of fat. Keep a pace that will make you slightly breathless but you can still carry a conversation. Having a walking buddy if you are outdoors will make the time pass by quickly.
You can increase your time to how ever long you care to walk each day. The more you walk the more fat you will be burning.

Biking

Bike riding is another excellent way to lose body fat and burn a lot of calories. A stationary bike is nice during inclement weather, and if you are really into a good hour ride, buy some virtual bike rides on DVD. They are filmed in other parts of the world, the scenery is beautiful and the time will fly by.

Resistance Training

By building more lean muscle, you can burn more calories and fat. You do not need to look like a body builder unless this is your goal. Going to the gym for weight training or investing in resistance bands will help build a little muscle and give definition to your frame.

Dieting alone will cause you to lose muscle. By getting some form of exercise each day you can keep muscle tone and create definition.

Do not forget to eat a healthy diet and not skip meals! Drink enough pure water each day as well.
